ISLAMABAD: The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) has said that the existing blasphemy law should not be amended, saying that all the prophets are equally respectable. It said that the minorities would become unsafe if amendments were made in the blasphemy law.
These views were expressed in a meeting of the CII headed by Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani held here on Wednesday.
The council also tasked Allama Hafiz Zubair Ahmed Zaheer to thoroughly pursue the curriculums and report to the council to enable it to purge the curriculums from any flaws in contrary to the ideology of the country and teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), the father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the country’s ideology.
