Kolkata (West Bengal, India): At present the whole world is involved in religious conflict. At some places people are dissenting against their government and in some places the authorities are committing atrocities on its people. At some places governments are not giving due rights of their people. Extremist’s organizations are massacring innocent men, women and children. Some where somebody portrays the prophet of Islam in ill and painful way to disturb world peace.
At this critical juncture a joint effort needs to be taken at all levels world over and religion can play a vital role in this facet. The spiritual head of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (aba), the fifth successor (Caliph) of the founder of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian the Promised Messiah and Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him) is giving his best effort in this regard.
Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Kolkata organized an “All Religious Reformers Day Conference at the Open Auditorium of the 37th International Kolkata Book Fair on 2nd of February 2013 between 3.15 pm to 6.45 pm. The conference was presided over by Syed Mahmood Ahmad, president Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Kolkata and the chief guest was Dr. Osman Ghani, Head of The Department of Islamic History and Culture, Calcutta University (Retd.).
Speakers of different religions attended the conference. Father K. Victor-Sam representing the Christian Community, Sri Hemendu Bikash Chowdhury of the Bengal Buddhist Association, Sri Buddho Debanando Maharaj of Ram Krishna Math, Barisha/Kolkata, Sri Nilanjan Guha of Madhav Nilaya, Kalpataru Sangha Bhadu, Prof. Dr. Sukhwqant Singh D.M.S. (Calcutta University) B.M.C.P. (Jadavpur University Calcutta.) representing the Sikh Community, Maulana Sheikh Mujahid Ahmad Shastri, Master Mohammed Mashrique Ali and Maulana Abu Tahir Mondal of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
Maulana Sheikh Mujahid Ahmad Shastri, Editor, Weekly Badr, Qadian/India articulated the idea that all the religions of the world propagate international unity, universal brotherhood and integrity, but the teachings of Islam is most eminent and comprehensive. The teachings of Islam are most lucid to the very nature of human beings and are a blessing for all mankind.
The program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran with Bangla translation by Hafiz Jafar Sadique of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Maulana Abu Tahir Mondal in his opening speech narrated the speech of the Head of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad on establishment of International Peace delivered at Capitol Hill, Washington D.C on 27th June, 2012. The Caliph in his address emphasized the importance of understanding and forming a relation of man with his creator for establishing international peace and he further added that international peace can be successfully established only with Justice and impartiality.
Master Muhammad Mashrique Ali in his speech threw light on the Life and Character of the founder of Islam Hadhrat Muhammad (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), Seal of the Prophets, and emphasized that International Peace and Justice can only be established by laying the foundation on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
Thousands of People from difference religion, walk of life and places attended the conference and making it a grand success.
