A Coherent and Rational Approach to Rebuilding the Third Temple: A Proposal for an International Architectural Competition

The Jerusalem Post:

We, the Jews, are lacking in a commodity almost every other Nation possesses – self-respect. Even oppressed ones possess this – the Muslim Nations and, in particular the Arabs ones, most of all. What other nation would have held its hand for over “forty years” (a good ‘Biblical’ term – 45 to be exact) from doing something about its most Holy of sites – so ‘holy’ that few will even approach it while allowing outsiders to trample all over it and, even worse, remove the archaeological remains of its original existence. On the other hand, we are, for the most part, utterly caring about others’ rights and privileges and particularly those of us who reside overseas ………………………………

THE GREATEST HERITAGE SITE OF ALL

We know how to commemorate the dead, but do we know how to commemorate the
living?

A Proposal for an International Architectural Competition to Help Solve the Problem of
what to do about the Temple Mount.

The recent spate of news reports about international groups being unwilling to recognize – and even condemning – Israel’s designating such locations like Rachel’s tomb in Shechem or “the Tomb of the Patriarchs” in Hebron as Jewish Holy sites has brought the issue of all “heritage Sites” front and center again (this article was originally printed in its totality in The Huffington Post, 8/3/10 – a much curtailed version appeared as “Enough Crying over Herod’s Stones”, The Jerusalem Post, 13/3/10).

The first step in a New Jerusalem would be the rebuilding of a third Temple. It is very important that only Jews would be in charge of this project. Reason being, God gave them the job of enlightening the world of His Being. The Temple would be just as important for me, a Christian, as it would be for the Muslim faith, but we must understand why. We now have that knowledge, why, in The Dead Sea Scrolls and only one person is trying to spread that knowledge to Jews, Christians, and Muslims alike. This one person is my favorite Jew, Robert Eisenman.
I believe that he should be made the consult to the architect and builders of the Third Temple. I would only trust his interpretation of Ezekiel. Reason being, only he has given the Truth in the interpretation of the Scrolls. He has worked none stop for the past 30, 40, or more years on a New Jerusalem. I cannot even imagine him not being part of this project. He could explain why these Scrolls can unify all three religions. This is really our last chance for peace and if it is not meet here in the Third Temple, then we may as well scrap the whose project.
As for self-respect, the readers of his books, gives him the very highest respect possible and I believe that he can convey this to his Jewish brothers.
I also believe that he should be given a voice in choosing the head architect and his brother Peter should work with him, if his chooses.
My question, what about Shiloh? God’s heart was broken when the Northern and Southern kingdoms split. So rebuild Shiloh and make it the center of government. The Temple would only be used to teach Gods laws of Righteousness and people would come to learn and take back home the knowledge of God.
A monument should be constructed to signify the unity of the two kingdoms. Peter Eisenman would be the architect here.
I could say more, but thank you very much for reading my opinion.
