As reported earlier Mr Ijaz representing Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Hamburg was invited by the Federal President of Germany to join the new year reception in presidential palace Berlin. For this very honourable and august event, traditionally federal cabinet, services chiefs, heads of the federal institutions and representatives from the public life including representatives of the provincial governments are invited. During “defilee” Mr Ijaz presented Huzoor’s lecture on „loyality of a Muslim towards his own country“ to the president. Mr. President said that he’ll certainly read it as he wants to learn more about Islamic viewpoint on the subject.
Formal defilee, photo sessions and informal small-talk-rounds went on from 10:00 to 13:00 hrs.
The president then hosted lunch for the 60 invited guests from civic life in recognition of their voluntary social services/commitment/engagement. Mr Ijaz felt really honoured as the president invited to join him on the table reserved for his choice guests. This provided him a unique opportunity to communicate with the president directly for over an hour. The discussion revolved around volunteerism, social activism and integration. He also narrated some interesting personal experiences in eastern Germany (before 1990). The president is a very simple, straight-forward and sympathetic personality.
