MUI decides on property from corruption and death sentence for the perpetrator
REPUBLIKA CO. ID., JAKARTA – Indonesian Council of Ulama (MUI) fatwa strengthens law enforcement institute in seizing corruptors’ assets. Based on the fatwa (Islamic verdict -Ed), the corruptors will not only execute the court verdicts, but also give up their property from the corruption. And to a certain level, the perpetrator must be sentenced to death.
The Chairman of MUI on fatwa, KH Ma’ruf Amin, said the fatwa was the agreement of 800 ulamas attending the meeting in Pesantren Cipasung, Tasikmalaya, West Java, on Sunday. He added, the property of the corruptors, such as money, car, and house, should be confiscated if those are proven
