Pakistan shuns physicist linked to ‘God particle’ – Because he is A Muslim

Posted by

SEBASTIAN ABBOT, Associated Press:

ISLAMABAD (AP) — Pakistan’s only Nobel laureate helped develop the theoretical framework that led to the apparent discovery of the subatomic “God particle” last week, yet his legacy has been largely scorned in his homeland because of his religious affiliation.

It’s a sign of the growing Islamic extremism in his country.

LUMS is a private university in Lahore, Pakistan

Adbus Salam, who died in 1996, was once hailed as a national hero for his pioneering work in physics and work that guided the early stages of Pakistan’s nuclear program. Now his name is even stricken from school textbooks because he was a member of the Ahmadi sect that has been persecuted by the government and targeted by Taliban militants, who view them as heretics.

Their plight — along with that of Pakistan’s other religious minorities, such as Shiite Muslims, Christians and Hindus — has deepened in recent years as hard-line interpretations of Islam have gained ground and militants have stepped up attacks against groups they oppose. The majority of Pakistan’s citizens are Sunni Muslims.

Salam, a child prodigy born in 1926 in what was to become Pakistan after the partition of British-controlled India, won more than a dozen international prizes and honors. In 1979, he was co-winner of the Nobel Prize for his work on the so-called Standard Model of particle physics, which theorizes how fundamental forces govern the overall dynamics of the universe.

Pakistan’s attitude toward Abdus Salam will ultimately make other lose respect for Pakistan. It seems like there are not many people left in Pakistan who know how to honor and respect their country by honoring her heros. Little do they understand that in the world of physics, Abdus Salam will be a shining star for ever!

Dr Abdus Salam was the greatest hero of Muslim world who always remained loyal to his home country Pakistan despite shamefull attitude by the so called leaders of Pakistan. He won honours and praise from many countries of the world but sadly Pakistani leaders had no courage to challenge narrow minded fanatic Mullahs and show respect to their greatest hero. Today once again Almighty Allah has shown another sign. The work started by Dr Abdus Salam has been branded as the greatest breakthrough in Physics by authorities around the world. Allah o Akbar. Dr Abdus Salam Zindabad.

What the heck with those ignoramus mullahs and Taliban militants. Professor Dr. Abdus Salam is not only an Inspiration to the Muslim world but for mankind! grievances against Ahmadiyyat advocated by ambivalence moron Pakistan leaders to shunned Alma maters from his noble works is totally unacceptable by a mere sane people of the world….just because Dr. Abdus Salam is a genius disciple of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian – the Promised Messiah and Imam Mahdi(alaihis salaam).

In the start when item was discovered it is thought to be consist of three parts, called Electron, proton and neutron and that indicates towards the concept of trinity in the construction of universe by God.Dr.Abdul Salam and his companion physicists continued work on particle physics. The Al-Mighty God, The One and only guided them towards the one basic particle from which the universe is constructed. As Muslim Physicist and a believer of One God it was very encouraging and interesting and it boosted Abul Salam faith in Unity of God and the Unity of constructing material used by God to construct our Universe. In this context this particle is named as a “God Particle”. Is it ? Please correct me if I am wrong because I am not a physicist,I only read physics up-to my FSC education in 1974.
But Alhamdolillah I am a strong believer of One God.( The Allah Al-Mighty) The One and Only to Worship and The only creator of this Universe.
Dr.Abul Salam taken guidance from The Holly Qur’an
and by the help of God he proved the unity in the construction of Universe to prove the Unity of God.
With the passage of time his work will shine as He is a star in Heaven. Inshallah
