Bangladesh turns away more Muslims fleeing Myanmar

TEKNAF, Bangladesh — Bangladesh has refused 14 boats carrying 550 Rohingya Muslims fleeing sectarian violence in Myanmar in the last two days, officials said Tuesday, as the UN called for the border to be opened.

Patrol teams from Bangladesh’s coast guards and border forces intercepted the rickety fishing boats, mostly carrying women and children, as they tried to enter Bangladesh across the Naf river, which separates the two nations.

In the latest example, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained three boats carrying 103 Rohingya and they were later returned to Myanmar territory, BGB major Shafiqur Rahman told AFP.

“Women on the boats said they have lost husbands and relatives in the violence. Their houses were torched,”

he said, adding the BGB had turned away 11 boats carrying over 400 Rohingya since Monday.

Coast Guard station commander Lieutenant Badruddoza said his forces also turned away three boats carrying 144 Rohingya people on Tuesday as they tried to land at a southeastern island.

“The three boats apparently tried to anchor at the Saint Martin Island, but a coast guard patrol team pushed them back to Myanmar waters,” Badruddoza told AFP.

The UN Refugee Agency urged Dhaka to allow the Rohingya refugees into the country.

“On these boats are women and children, and injured people,” UNHCR representative Craig Sanders told AFP in Dhaka.

“We are appealing to the Bangladesh government to keep open its border and provide emergency and other humanitarian assistance.”

Dozens of people have been killed in a surge in sectarian violence in Myanmar, a senior Myanmar government official said Tuesday.

A state of emergency has been declared for Rakhine state, which borders Bangladesh, posing a major test for the reformist government which took power last year.

“It’s a major setback for the Rohingya refugees and the people of Myanmar and Bangladesh,” Sanders said. “Our first task is to ask Bangladesh to provide them safe passage, humanitarian and medical needs.”

Editors note: Sounds familiar, quite the same as Dutch UN peace keeping force in srebrenica massacre. Except in the present case it’s uncaring muslims whose hearts have become stiffer than stone!

The Myanmar government is not allowing aid agencies to enter Rakhine state to help the Rohingya Muslims. The World Food Programme(WFP) is the only agency that is really making a difference inside for those who want to donate.

Allah(swt) judges everyone as per their intentions…..
Personal opinion is that Islamism do not seem to be the solution, rather secularism can possibly be with lot of tolerance. See a westerner and possibly a christian persuading Bangladeshi government to open its door for Myanmar muslims.

We strongly appeal to government MYANMAR to immediately control the riots and provide immediate relief to injured and wandered Muslims.Secondly Govt. of Bangladesh should have fear of GOD and think about cosmos typhoons ,should immediately open the gate ways for hungry and injured people.Request to the public of BANGLADESH ,THEY SHOULD PRESS HARD THEIR GOVERNMENT TO EXTEND HELP ON THE BASIS OF HUMANITARIAN GROUND.UNO and US so called famous agencies for doing excellent work for humanity are sleeping and not bearing their responsibility? Where are high moral big personalities and social reformers having their heads high in the world by uttering big sentences and sloganeering big are sleeping?Where are Muslim countries rulers having control on world finance, are they still sleeping with women? The countries those who are in the business with MYANMAR SHOULD BREAK THE BUSINESS AND STOP THE SUPPLIES. Erstwhile when Myanmar was called as BURMA at that time also in 1960s they have done such type of massacring with MUSLIMS.Immediate action to help suffered public and action against MYANMAR IS REQUESTED FROM ALL GOD FEARING AGENCIES AND FRIENDS. REGARDS.———————MOHAMMAD NASEEM.BHOPAL.

People of all races must be educated to understand that they must live in peace with their neighbours irrespective of their color , race or religion. They should also learn to tolerate each other because it is the key to all problems today in this troubled worled. Allah bless us all . Our message and slogan ” Love for all hatred for non ” must be sptead arround the world.

I did not know much about Burma. Until just recently I saw some news one after the other on internet about the atrocities on Burmese Muslims. They are un-seeable and unimaginable. At first I thought it to be a propaganda or photo shop just to spread unrest. But later on I had to change my view. It is true. The merciless mass murder of innocent humans is unbelievable. And it seems no one is interested to save them. No one. Not even the Muslims are saying anything, they are equally are deaf and dumb. The world media too seems un- interested. And the killings of Muslim and their children women, elders in Burma continues.
After seeing those pictures one cannot even swallow a morsel of food. Where is the world? Why can’t anyone speak out? Are these killings being done by ghosts? Are the killer’s supernatural beings? Can’t anyone do anything to save these lives? Is there no organization in the world that has the agenda to stop inhuman killings? Are these people not human? It is so heart aching situation.
After all what have these Muslims done to have raised so much hatred. To me they are looking helpless. Some one posted a picture with three msuslims tied in ropes and are being drilled into the bones among a mob of media. All of them spectators.
All this is inhuman. We must condemn this.

It is so sad. I wish I could paste the picture of brutality in Burma here but it is too graphic.
