The Jakarta Globe:

“Under the Electronic Information and Transactions law, we sentence him to prison for a length of two years and six months,” Dharma said.

An Indonesian man arrested after writing “God doesn’t exist” on his Facebook page was jailed for 30 months Thursday for sharing explicit material about the Prophet Mohammed online.

Alexander Aan, 30, was found guilty of “deliberately spreading information inciting religious hatred and animosity,” presiding judge Eka Prasetya Budi Dharma told the Muaro Sijunjung district court in western Sumatra.

Aan started an atheist group on Facebook on which he shared comic strips of the prophet having sex with his servant, Dharma said.

He also uploaded three articles on his account, including one describing the prophet being attracted to his daughter-in-law.

Shame on “Amnesty” backing a person, who has openly tarnished religion Islam on face book.If it is under the Indonesian Govt.rule to award sentence on this account, naturally it will be felt justified and the group which is injured sentimentally by this wrong and rather abused act will feel a sigh of relief. But,no in the sight of Amnesty abusing and showing sexual photos openly is the freedom of thought,no matter some bodies belief and sentiments are affected. The moral of society has gone down so much the members and the amnesty head siding a wrong act so openly by which a civilized world sunk in shame.May I ask a question from respected authorities and gentle personalities of Amnesty,UNO and power country US who is on the back of these organization regarding sectarian violence in MYANMAR from where the injured person with small children and women are wandering in the small broken boats with thirst and appetite in the sea and they wept so much their tears now not coming out from the eyes and only heart is weeping with blood tears which no body can see.Where is Amnesty,UNO are they sleeping?Where is the influence of “US” not come into picture.A big massacring of a group is left where justice is required and a non sense person who is abusing and tarnishing a faith,a believe is supported why?. They should resign from their posts and hand over the authority to peaceful and justified personalities those who can really serve the human kind.
